Day 1: Perth to Busselton
We had a great sleep at the Ingot Hotel by Perth Airport, had breakfast there then took an Uber to Cruisin Campervans to pick up our van
Realised after this video was posted that we'd parked the van the wrong way round so Andy had to 3 point turn it - pressure!
We then headed to the Jetty & had lunch at Goose
Then we took a solar powered train to the end of the Jetty. Busselton Jetty started construction in 1864 and has had various extensions over the years. It suffered damage from Cyclone Alby in 1978 and a fire in 1999. Locals raised funds to restore it. It's just over 1.8 km. We were going to walk it but it's so damn hot 🥵
So at the end of the Jetty there's a Marine Observation Centre. You go down 8 metres below sea level and can see all the amazing corals and fish. The guide (Brontë) was more mad on fish than anyone would think possible. So here's some corals and fish:
I've now discovered I can add photos in an album on here - I'm learning this as I go along 😀
A couple of cute pics from the very end of the Jetty taken by a couple from Wyoming who apologised for Donald Trump being a cocksucker which was understandable.
Then had planned to eat but by the time we left the Jetty at 6.30pm the jet lag had kicked in and so we went back to the van, had various disasters because we'd not paid attention when the guy was telling us about the van (which I've described in a video tomorrow) and attempted to sleep.
Right here's some nice sunsets from Busselton Jetty to finish the day
