Day 7: Augusta to Walpole

Started the day lying in bed following the Cov game on the iPad. Great result - come on we can do this!

Today we are heading to Walpole. It's a 3 hour drive so I may have to get in the drivers seat for a stretch - eek!

Anticipating chillier weather for the next few days as we venture out along the Antarctic Ocean coast!

Liz drives the van. Andy insisting we keep the first one in even though his videoing is as bad as my starting the engine

And we're off!!

So Liz just drove this stretch:

Now in Pemberton and stopping for coffee at the fantasyic Jarrah & Jade coffee shop. Shout out to the lovely Keely who made me a dairy free version of one of their amazing wraps. We've put these in the fridge to eat later

Andy then drove the 2nd leg from Pemberton to Walpole. Quite a lot of the drive looked like this:

We checked into the park then went off to do a treetop walk. More on that later. This campsite is lovely. We've got a really nice spot

Once we'd sorted out our site we went to do a treetop walk - this was on a metal walkway amongst tingle trees (eucalyptus/gum trees) - at the highest point this was 40 metres in the sky. There was also a ground level walk which was really beautiful

After the elevated section there was a ground level trail called "The Ancient Empire" - it was great to do both, as the tingle trees are amazing at the base as well. Some of them you can walk right through

We then went and fuelled the camper van in Walpole. Turns out that the BP station has the best shop and cafe of any fuel station I've ever seen with the possible exception of Gloucester Services. They have home made ready meals with all allergens marked, they do breakfasts (of which more tomorrow), and they are probably the nicest people we've met, and in Aus that's saying something!

Honestly if you find yourself on a Campervan trip in this part of Australia I would get in here & stock up

We then went back to our campsite at Coalmine Beach. It was only an overnight stop but it was a lovely quiet pitch with a nice beach
