Day 10: Mount Barker to Bunbury
Today we did a pretty epic drive back to the west coast. Andy reported that the showers at the Mount Barker campsite were hideous, so I decided to wait until we got to our en suite site at Bunbury!
One highlight was that I spotted some kangaroos in a field which Andy has been jealous of ever since but sadly I have no credible photographic evidence
We did our best to eke some interesting observations out of a 3 hour drive but as you can see it was a challenge!
We did intend to stop at Boyanup Brook but when we got there it was literally nothing and we needed coffee. So we detoured slightly and stumbled upon a wonderful little place called Balingup. We got out of the van to the sounds of folk music coming from a bar - our favourite was this anti fracking song:
There was also some kind of scarecrow festival going on
And then sort of refreshed and entertained we completed our journey to Bunbury. So our journey today looked something like this:
The park at Bunbury is very fancy. We have booked an en suite site which basically means we have a private shower & loo next to our pitch
Of course it was Mothers Day in the UK so once the UK was awake (early evening here) we both spoke to our mums
We then treated ourselves to a nice meal out with a nice bottle of wine and cocktails at a place called Mojos
