Day 16: Shopping and Prison in Fremantle

One thing I'm going to miss about Australia is the lovely breakfasts. While we didn't always eat well in the evenings when we were in the van we normally found somewhere decent for breakfast. But we hadn't really had a nice one in Fremantle - until today:

At the next table were 2 British guys who were clearly doing the awkward "morning after" breakfast following the previous nights hook up. They both seemed to be on some kind of medical conference in Oz. I don't think I spoke to Andy at all as their awkward post coital not quite intimacy was FASCINATING!!

We then did a bit of shopping. I bought these fan jeans which I am going to have to stop eating lovely breakfasts to have a hope of wearing regularly!

We went for a mooch round the famous Fremantle Markets. Bought some fudge!

This reel just gives a bit of a flavour of the markets:

Andy saw his first kangaroo of the trip

We then want to the famous Fremantle Prison. This is the only UNESCO world heritage site in WA

Our tour guide was a fabulous Scottish guy called Ken. I'm amazed some of the Aussies could understand him

Here's some pics I took at the prison

I kept these pics out of the main set as they are incredible wall paintings by the Noongar people who had a separate exercise yard. These are really faded by the sun

Afterwards we went & got changed then jumped in an Uber to North Fremantle to a restaurant called Bib & Tucker. I swear this was the best restaurant we have been to on the trip - which was kind of the plan as it was our last Saturday night in Oz

It was all small and large sharing plates and lovely cocktails. We need to confess - we did eat something you wouldn't see on a UK menu. Apologies
